“Sympathy Plant #1” was an entry for New New Wight: The Gallery is Naked, a virtual gallery created by fellow UCLA grads Theo Trian and Julieta Gil. After becoming slightly amused by the odd and saccharine marketing terms used for traditional funerary gifts, I created a floating Calla Lily “Sympathy Plant” that followed the player around the gallery while it professed an endless “sorry.”
